Harland and Wolfe – “Busy Reflections”

Harland and Wolfe is the second of 8 pieces of artwork commissioned for Ten Square Hotel, Belfast and Chimney Corner Hotel, Templepatrick. The title of this piece has several meanings. Firstly in terms of composition. The myriad of colour and detail is rather busy, providing a feast for the eyes in the rippling pool. Secondly in terms of Belfast’s industrial heritage. The cranes, known as Samson and Goliath, are a reflection of Belfast’s industrial past. In addition, the business of their present-day activity is once again being captured by the reflections.
